Special Education Teacher in Saint Paul, MN

Location: Saint Paul

Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Long-Term Substitute Special Education Teacher supporting high school learners with diverse needs. This full-time contract assignment begins at the start of the 2026/2027 academic year and runs through Thanksgiving. You'll be a key player in delivering targeted instruction and interventions, with a particular focus on reading and executive functioning support for students with learning disabilities.

What We're Looking For:

• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License
• Licensure in Learning Disabilities (LD) is highly valued
• Demonstrated experience working with high school students in special education roles
• Strong track record providing reading intervention and executive functioning support
• Proficiency in IEP implementation, academic accommodations, and progress monitoring
• Ability to seamlessly integrate with dynamic educational teams
• Background supporting students with executive functioning deficits a plus
• Prior experience in high school SPED settings preferred

Your Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and facilitate reading interventions tailored to students with learning disabilities
• Support executive functioning skill development and offer instructional strategies to foster independence
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive academic and behavioral support
• Implement IEPs, monitor student progress, and adjust interventions based on ongoing data
• Maintain detailed documentation and communicate regularly with families and colleagues
