School Social Worker – Monticello High School
Centrally located on Interstate 94 less than 25 miles northwest of Maple Grove and 30 miles southeast of Saint Cloud, Monticello is home to five brick and mortar schools and two nature-based facilities serving more than 4,000 students annually. The School Social Worker plays a key role in promoting student success by addressing social, emotional, behavioral, and environmental factors that impact learning. This position involves providing direct special education services to students, resources and support for families, participation in student support and special education teams, and fostering strong home‑school‑community partnerships. Additional duties include participation on student support teams for intervention planning, problem solving, and data collection.
Licensure- Current licensure through the Minnesota Board of Social Work required
- Current School Social Worker license with the Minnesota Department of Education required
- Preferred – three years of experience in social work
- Experience working with middle school students
- Experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred
- Experience with academic planning and career exploration
- Experience with alternative pathways
- Awareness of best practices for secondary counseling/procedures
- Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism and ethical practices
- Maintain confidentiality of information about students and families
- Experience working with diverse students and families
- Assist with supervision of students during non-academic educational activities
