Lead Gymnastics Instructor

Effective immediately, the Human Resources Department will accept online applications for a Lead Gymnastics Instructor and Gymnastics Instructors in our Community Education Department located at Central Square Community Center. Rate of pay for the Lead Gymnastics Instructor is $20.00 per hour, up to 20 hours per week. Rate of pay for Gymnastics Instructor is $17.00 per hour, up to 20 hours per week.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of the youth gymnastics program.

Job Functions
  • Supervise youth gymnastics programming.
  • Research, develop, and implement new gymnastics programming.
  • Evaluate programming and recommend changes as necessary.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, training and mentoring for youth gymnastics staff.
  • Provide oversight and updating to program processes.
  • Oversee risk management, training and safety needs of the youth gymnastics program; assess equipment and make recommendations for repair or replacements.
  • Maintain and develop with high school program to facilitate collaboration with youth initiatives.
  • Be a positive role model for respectful behavior and problem solving strategies.
  • Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies.
  • Maintain Midwest Amateur Gymnastic Association or USA Gymnastics Membership and Credentials Demonstrated prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required:

  • Current and maintained Accreditation, Certifications and annual training of Midwest Amateur Gymnastic Association or USA Gymnastics
  • Experience leading, planning and implementing a gymnastic program
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR/AED/First aid certified
  • Ability to work flexible hours, evenings and weekends
  • Ability to promote, organize, and direct gymnastic classes to various participants
  • Proven leadership skills with both youth and adults
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to successfully manage programs/projects
  • Ability to work with various age groups
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with class participants, instructors, staff and community members
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and ability to resolve disputes and problems effectively
  • Ability to understand and follow data privacy rules and regulations
  • Ability to perform computer functions, including the use of Google apps, email, Internet navigation and Microsoft Office

Preferred:

  • Associates of Arts degree and minimum three years' experience in the development and implementation of gymnastic programming preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Constantly required to move and interact with students including standing, walking, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling and reaching with hands and arms.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, lift, use hands for fingering, grasping and feeling, wrists, hands and/or fingers for repetitive motions or computer use.
  • The employee must frequently lift, move and/or carry up to 30 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to and over 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
