Minnesota School of Music is hiring professional music instructors who want more than a teaching gig — they want to be part of a structured, student-centered faculty. We are a locally owned, fast-growing community music school serving Blaine-area families since 2013. Our instructors mentor students, prepare them for the stage, and contribute to a culture focused on long-term development.
What Makes Teaching Here Different Unlike contractor-based studios, our teachers are W-2 employees with stable schedules, administrative support, and a clear instructional framework. That means:

You teach. We handle the rest. Our full-time front office manages scheduling, billing, enrollment, parent communication, and recital production — allowing instructors to stay focused on teaching and student outcomes.
Schedule Current Opening:
Wednesdays | 3:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.Additional shifts (including Saturdays) may become available based on studio growth. Instructors maintain consistent weekly availability to support student continuity.
Responsibilities
- Teach one-on-one, 30-minute private lessons
- Follow structured curriculum pathways
- Track student progress and lesson notes
- Prepare students for semi-annual recitals
- Participate in performance events
- Support our Musical Ladder Achievement Program
- Deliver a positive, parent-inclusive lesson experience
Lessons are taught in a parent-visible environment requiring strong professionalism and communication. Performance Culture We are a performance-based school. Instructors prepare students for recitals, participate in events, and support stage readiness and achievement milestones.

Requirements
- Comfortable teaching ages 5–18
- Reliable weekly availability
- Strong communication skills
- Commitment to student continuity and growth
Teaching experience preferred. Degree not required. Employment & Benefits This is a W-2 employee position. Benefits include:

Commitment We prioritize instructors seeking stability and long-term student relationships. Applicants should be prepared to maintain a consistent teaching schedule through the academic year. Compensation $28–$32 per instructional hour equivalent, based on experience and schedule load. Additional pay provided for training, meetings, and events.
