Middle School Special Education Teacher
Special education licensed teacher to work with students in grades 5-8 who are receiving special education services. Essential duties and responsibilities include contributing to and participating in the building student support teams, serving as an IEP case manager, working as a team member in staffings, facilitating team meetings to review student progress and develop IEP as related to student needs, planning and implementing appropriate educational programs for individuals, maintaining appropriate records and reports, collecting data on progress on goals and objectives for each student and meeting all required timelines, developing, coordinating, and evaluating transition related experiences for students, if applicable, providing work direction to paraprofessional staff members, communicating effectively with students, families, educators, and administrators regarding student programs and progress, collaborating with students, families, related service providers, outside agencies, and other team members to promote growth of each student, working cooperatively with general education teachers and staff and providing building consultation, support and training as needed, creating and maintaining a professional working relationship with families and staff, obtaining and demonstrating knowledge of general education curriculum including the grade level outcomes and state standards, assisting special education team in assessments, comprehensive report results, and follow Minnesota state criteria in area(s) of special education eligibility as well as mandated timelines, participating in building and District level professional development activities, understanding and maintaining boundaries and confidentiality with students, families and staff, and performing all other duties and responsibilities in certification areas as directed by the Director of Special Services and/or the Building Principal.
Required
Education:
Valid MN Teaching License for Special Education, Grades 5-8

Possess a valid Minnesota driver's license and be a responsible driver.
Starting Pay Range: $41,740 - $77,010
