Job SummaryThe Middle College Coordinator provides leadership and oversight for the St. James High School Middle College Program, including both the Advanced Academic Institute and Technical Scholars Institute. The Coordinator works collaboratively with students, families, school staff, college partners, and community stakeholders to expand access to dual enrollment opportunities, ensure student success in college coursework, and promote career and college readiness. The Coordinator is responsible for student recruitment, program implementation, academic monitoring, partnership development, and compliance with district and postsecondary requirements.
Responsibilities- Lead the implementation, coordination, and continuous improvement of the SJHS Middle College Program.
- Coordinate the recruitment, application, selection, and onboarding processes for students participating in the Advanced Academic Institute and Technical Scholars Institute.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with postsecondary institutions, including dual enrollment representatives, faculty, and administrators.
- Serve as the primary liaison between St. James High School, college partners, students, and families regarding Middle College opportunities and requirements.
- Monitor student academic performance, attendance, and progress toward program completion and graduation requirements.
- Monitor student eligibility and continuation requirements, including GPA expectations, attendance, discipline, and academic performance benchmarks to ensure students remain in good standing within the program.
- Implement systems to identify and support students experiencing academic challenges and coordinate appropriate interventions.
- Conduct regular grade reviews, progress monitoring, and student conferences to ensure participants receive appropriate academic support and remain on track toward program completion.
- Coordinate dual enrollment registration, scheduling, course approvals, and transcript reviews in collaboration with school counselors and college partners.
- Assist students and families in understanding college expectations, transfer pathways, workforce credentials, financial aid opportunities, and career planning options.
- Plan and facilitate student and parent information sessions, orientations, and program showcases.
- Coordinate annual college and career exploration experiences for Middle College students, including college campus visits, industry tours, apprenticeship site visits, and engagement opportunities with postsecondary and business partners.
- Maintain accurate student records and ensure compliance with district, state, and postsecondary reporting requirements.
- Analyze program data to evaluate student outcomes, enrollment trends, completion rates, and overall program effectiveness.
- Collaborate with school administration to align Middle College opportunities with school improvement goals and workforce development initiatives.
- Support the development of work-based learning, internship, apprenticeship, and career pathway opportunities connected to program offerings.
- Promote equitable access to advanced academic and career-focused opportunities for all eligible students.
- Coordinate communication efforts to increase awareness of Middle College opportunities among students, families, staff, and community stakeholders.
- Assist in securing and managing grants, partnerships, and resources that support program growth and sustainability.
- Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and college partner requirements related to dual enrollment and Middle College programming.
- Provide information, analysis, and recommendations to the principal regarding program effectiveness, student outcomes, and future growth opportunities.
