Special Education Teacher - Elementary Long Term Substitute
Work collaboratively with special services team members to support the academic, character, social and emotional growth of learners. Collaborate with IEP team members to design, coordinate, and deliver a rigorous and appropriate education for students with disabilities. Participate in regular PLC meetings as an active and engaged professional. Maintain due process paperwork according to District, State, and Federal guidelines. Communicate frequently with parents, colleagues, students, and administrators through all available means of technology.
Establish and maintain high standards for the educational experience of students.
Current Minnesota Special Education Teaching License required. (ABS preferred) High level of due process expertise required. Demonstrated ability to facilitate meaningful discourse in IEP meetings. Experience working directly with students in classroom setting preferred. Effective classroom management skills. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated experience in collaboration and problem-solving. Experience with curriculum, assessment, and accommodation design. Understanding of the role of parent involvement and the ability to collaborate with parents.
Ability to use technology as an instructional tool.
