Reading Specialist (.5 Fte)
Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial School District seeks a dedicated and skilled Reading Specialist to support students in grades 6-9. This position focuses on improving literacy skills, supporting struggling readers, and working with staff to strengthen reading instruction across content areas.

Primary Responsibilities
- Provide targeted reading instruction for students in grades 6-9
- Assess student reading needs and monitor progress
- Develop and implement intervention plans
- Work with teachers to support reading strategies in all content areas
- Use data to guide instruction and adjust interventions
- Support MTSS and intervention systems
- Communicate with staff and families on student progress
Qualifications
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in Reading or related field
- Strong knowledge of literacy development and intervention strategies
- Experience working with middle-level students preferred
- Skill in using assessment data to guide instruction
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with intervention programs and progress monitoring tools
- Background in differentiated instruction
- Experience in a middle school setting
