Kenyon-Wanamingo Schools is seeking a Choir/Vocal Teacher for Middle/High School for the school year. The candidate should have strong subject knowledge of teaching 5-12 vocal music. Additional compensation and responsibilities include instructing extra‑curricular Senior and Junior High Chorale (schedule C stipend), and Jazz Choir (schedule C compensation).
The choir performs Two Large Concerts a year and performs at the Large Group and Small Group Music contests.
The teacher will be given autonomy to design a lesson program that best suits the needs of the students.
This choir program is enthusiastically supported by the parents, staff and community!
Responsibilities- Lead and teach choir and vocal instruction across Middle and High School grades.
- Must hold a valid MN teaching license.
- Preferred:
Vocal and Classroom Music licensure.
Salary range for : $45,932 (BA, Step
1) to $83,299 (MA+30, Step 15) based on experience and education. Salary schedules are detailed in employee contracts. Long‑Term Sub positions are paid at BA, Step 1.
- Health Insurance:
Single $10,500 employer contribution, Family $17,500 employer contribution; 2 plan options to choose from. - $800 contribution toward Qualifying Health Account.
- $24 per month toward premium for income protection insurance.
- $50,000 Life Insurance and Long Term Disability paid.
- 403(b) Match:
After completion of one year, employer will match up to $1,200 annually. - Standard Retirement Benefit:
Eligibility requirements apply; $4,500 deposit until age 65. - PTO/SICK: 15 sick days per year with 6 days of PTO granted annually deducted from sick days.
