Resident teachers are new to the profession and work with an experienced teacher, taking on roles throughout the year — whole group, small group, individualized instruction, intervention, substitute teaching and partner teaching. Resident teachers receive intensive coaching supports to accelerate learning and experience in their first year, with the goal of eventually moving to a home‑base teaching position.
Qualifications / Licensing RequirementsThe successful candidate must have earned a B.A. or B.S. degree and hold or be eligible for a Minnesota State Licensure in Elementary Education. Additional qualifications include commitment to equitable education for all students, creative planning and organizational skills, and highly effective interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to implement the responsibilities of the position.
PreferencesPreferred candidates have demonstrated excellence in collaboration, enthusiasm with students, ongoing learning evidenced by graduate-level work or an earned degree, participation in professional organization conferences or seminars related to the content area, and experience working with diverse learners.
Position1.0 FTE Teacher
Rate of Pay: $53,228 – $107,781 per school year (placement determined based on experience and qualifications)
