Special Education Paraprofessional – Multi Categorical

6.5 hours per day (9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)

• Supervise students indoors and outdoors, including transitions, lunch, recess, and community-based activities.
• Reinforce academic skills with individual students or small groups under direct supervision of a licensed teacher.
• Assist students with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as eating/feeding, transferring, toileting/diapering, dressing, and hygiene.
• Facilitate behavioral redirection and intervention in alignment with student behavior intervention plans and district protocols, including de‑escalation strategies.
• Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including collecting and recording data on student goals and objectives.
• Collaborate and communicate with case managers, classroom teachers, and related service providers (PT, OT, SLP, school nurses, etc.).
• Complete Third Party Billing documentation as required and trained.
• Participate in required professional development, training, and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• All Centennial paraprofessionals may be assigned to other positions as determined by the district.

• High School Diploma required.
• Demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Must be highly qualified: either
  • At least two years of college credits (usually 60 credits if earned in Minnesota) through an accredited institution of higher education;
  • Hold an associate’s degree or higher; or
  • Have a passing score on an approved, formal assessment (Para Pro or Para educator Assessment).
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications may be considered by the Board if appropriate and acceptable.

Ranging from $21.07 to $22.63 per hour, dependent on experience.
