Animal Science ON CAMPUS Short Term Teaching Positions - UMC Ag/NatR Division
POSITIONThis is a short-term and/or temporary on-campus Animal Science teaching position for the University of Minnesota – Crookston Campus’s Agriculture & Natural Resources Department for the academic year.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop and teach courses
- Advise students with regard to academic concerns and school-related organizations
- May provide service related teaching duties
- Participate in the decision relation to the policies, courses, and programs which there is involvement
- Continuing personal growth within the profession, keep current with the field and broaden knowledge and expertise
Other Openings:
Deliver high-quality instruction to undergraduate students in coursework in the fields of animal science. This position will assist in the development of department goals and objectives; advise students; and support research and community outreach in the areas of discipline. The responsibilities also include developing and maintaining strong ties to the other scholars in the field, enriching the student experience and supporting student employment opportunities.
The position requires regular office hours.
- Master’s Degree, preferably in the teaching discipline
- Or, Master’s Degree in another field, plus 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline
- A terminal degree in the discipline or related area is preferred
- Professional and/or teaching experience related to assigned instructional responsibilities
- Candidates must be willing to demonstrate self‑awareness, cultural competencies, and achievement in working with diverse student populations
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Candidates must be eligible to work within the United States
Pay Range: $1300-$1500 per credit based on experience, course, and enrollment.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
