Reading Specialist (.5 FTE)
Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial School District seeks a dedicated and skilled Reading Specialist to support students in grades 6–9. This position focuses on improving literacy skills, supporting struggling readers, and working with staff to strengthen reading instruction across content areas.
Title: Reading Specialist (.5 FTE)
Location: LCWM Secondary School (Grades 6–12)
Start Date: August 2026
FTE: 0.5
Schedule: School year position
Primary Responsibilities- Provide targeted reading instruction for students in grades 6–9.
- Assess student reading needs and monitor progress.
- Develop and implement intervention plans.
- Work with teachers to support reading strategies in all content areas.
- Use data to guide instruction and adjust interventions.
- Support MTSS and intervention systems.
- Communicate with staff and families on student progress.
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in Reading or related field.
- Strong knowledge of literacy development and intervention strategies.
- Experience working with middle-level students preferred.
- Skill in using assessment data to guide instruction.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with intervention programs and progress monitoring tools.
- Background in differentiated instruction.
- Experience in a middle school setting.
