- Native or near‑native fluency in Spanish; must achieve an "Advanced" rating under the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines.

- Demonstrate native or near‑native fluency in Spanish (ACTFL Advanced).
- Demonstrate English language proficiency to communicate with parents.
- Demonstrate successful experience in Total Physical Response (TPR) methodology for teaching in an immersion program.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the district‑approved curriculum to each pupil's needs.
- Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Establish and maintain pupil behavior standards to create an effective learning environment.
- Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- Identify pupil needs, make appropriate referrals, and develop strategies for individual education plans.
- Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom days via Schoology, newsletters, phone calls, e‑mails, and conferences.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors.
- Maintain and improve professional skills by participating in building and department meetings, PLCs, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars to stay current with best teaching practices.
- Integrate technology into instruction.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
- Collaborate in a fast‑paced environment interacting with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community with multiple requests and concerns.
- Support and communicate with other administrators and staff.
- Respond to emergency situations.
- Know, interpret, and follow school district policies.
- Plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
- Provide input to the goal-setting process for paraprofessionals.
- Demonstrated successful experience in an immersion program (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate skills in performing daily routines.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a computer, software, and necessary classroom technology.
- Ability to develop effective and positive working relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community.
- Maintain professional composure while dealing with a variety of personalities and situations.
- Show initiative and function as a self‑starter.
- Effectively communicate and possess interpersonal skills applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, and the general public to exchange information and receive work direction.
