• Minimum of Minnesota K-6 or 1-6 Elementary Education Teaching License, or qualify for a Minnesota teaching license.
• Native or near‑native fluency in Spanish; must achieve an "Advanced" rating under the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines.

• Demonstrate native or near‑native fluency in Spanish (ACTFL Advanced).
• Demonstrate English language proficiency to communicate with parents.
• Demonstrate successful experience in Total Physical Response (TPR) methodology for teaching in an immersion program.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the district‑approved curriculum to each pupil's needs.
• Translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Establish and maintain pupil behavior standards to create an effective learning environment.
• Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
• Identify pupil needs, make appropriate referrals, and develop strategies for individual education plans.
• Communicate regularly with parents outside normal classroom days via Schoology, newsletters, phone calls, e‑mails, and conferences.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors.
• Maintain and improve professional skills by participating in building and department meetings, PLCs, formal coursework, workshops, and seminars to stay current with best teaching practices.
• Integrate technology into instruction.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

• Collaborate in a fast‑paced environment interacting with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community with multiple requests and concerns.
• Support and communicate with other administrators and staff.
• Respond to emergency situations.
• Know, interpret, and follow school district policies.
• Plan and coordinate the work of paraprofessionals and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
• Provide input to the goal-setting process for paraprofessionals.

• Demonstrated successful experience in an immersion program (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to apply appropriate skills in performing daily routines.
• Demonstrated ability to operate a computer, software, and necessary classroom technology.
• Ability to develop effective and positive working relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community.
• Maintain professional composure while dealing with a variety of personalities and situations.
• Show initiative and function as a self‑starter.
• Effectively communicate and possess interpersonal skills applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, and the general public to exchange information and receive work direction.
