In this role, you will provide literacy, English Language Learning, secondary credential, post‑secondary preparation, and/or other adult basic education (ABE) instruction to incarcerated persons (IP) in the Moose Lake facility. You will develop curriculum based on state ABE standards, deliver instruction in whole class, small group and individual formats, and assess and monitor IP progress. You will also serve as a special education case manager for an assigned caseload and provide support for students with disabilities.

- Plan and deliver instruction in whole class, small group, and individual settings.
- Assess, monitor, and record IP progress.
- Direct teaching assistants and IP tutors to enhance learning.
- Create flexible learning environments for students with disabilities.
- Serve as special education case manager for assigned caseload, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Collaborate with correctional and educational staff to support IP learning.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Professional K‑12 Special Education Minnesota teaching license (Tier 1 acceptable if Tier 2‑4 not available).
- Submission of license file folder number with application.
- Current Minnesota Tier 3 or 4 teaching license.
- Experience teaching adult basic education.
- Experience teaching special education.
- Experience in a correctional setting.
- Full‑time licensed teaching experience.
