Behavior Intervention Teacher - (TOSA)
A behavior intervention specialist will be expected to provide professional behavior support to educational environments that assist teachers, parents, and students with training that is specific to changing maladaptive or negative behaviors into behaviors that are more appropriate and functional in the learning environment.
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience in a variety of systems of support in order to increase behavioral expectations in the learning environment.
- Has training in data collection on challenging behaviors, determining the function of why behaviors are happening in the school or home environment, and documentation of interventions that can be implemented in the school.
- Certification and/or educational experience in behavioral analysis in order to oversee program implementation and make any necessary adjustments as goals are mastered or new challenging behaviors appear.
- Experience in educating staff, parents, and students about the strategies they use in group or individual settings so that there is a continuity of services and support in both home and school environments.
- Strong working knowledge of behavioral theory and applied behavior analysis. Understanding of the characteristics and behaviors associated with disorders. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to handle intense emotional situations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires Any Secondary License. (Anoka-Hennepin will make every effort to hire teachers with full standard licenses in the assigned subject and grade level.)
Start Date:
8/31/26. This posting can be filled immediately by a properly licensed candidate. Rate of Pay: $53,529 to $106,751. Rate is based on full-time equivalency and verified placement on the salary schedule, with 1.0 FTE being full time.
