Individuals who have previously separated from the district or who are new to the district and would like to start substitute teach during the  school year, should apply through this job posting.

About STMA Schools
We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs 750+ employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district is comprised of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.

Varies by level and building school days

$180/day.

No benefit eligibility, other than Earned Safe and Sick Time (ESST) as provided by law.

Bachelor's degree and required substitute teaching license (short-call, long-call, lifetime, or Tier 3 or Tier
4).

Please apply online and attention application materials to Angel Lussier, Human Resources Supervisor. Once your teaching license is verified, you will be sent a background check link. Once your background check is approved, you will be invited to an in-person interview. Interviews will be held in the afternoon on Monday, September 21, 2026. Interview slots are assigned on a first come-first serve basis, and there will only be one date available in September.

If you are not available to interview in August, please wait to submit your application to Substitute Teach in October. Selected applicants will complete in-person paperwork (bring your driver's license and social security card) on site following the interview. Substitutes will then be entered into Smart Find, our substitute management system and can begin substitute teaching starting Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026.

At this time, the decision as to whether there will be mandatory (paid) substitute training has not been made.
