Swim Instructor

Under the direction of the Director of Community Education, Swim Instructors deliver high-quality, safe, and engaging swimming lessons to community members of various ages and skill levels. Instructors are responsible for implementing the Tiger Swim Program curriculum, fostering a positive learning environment, and encouraging water safety and skill progression.

Qualifications & Requirements

Delano Tiger Swim Program Certification (Must be completed prior to official start date; training provided via the Work Agreement pathway if requested). Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Must be at least 16 years of age. Strong knowledge of swimming strokes, water safety principles, and teaching techniques. Exceptional patience, enthusiasm, and communication skills especially when working with young children.

Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while following a structured curriculum.

Physical & Environmental Demands

Physical Demands:
Ability to remain in the water for extended periods (24 hours); ability to demonstrate swimming strokes; lifting or supporting children in the water; clear vocal projection in a loud acoustic environment.

Environmental Conditions:

Indoor pool environment with high humidity, warm water temperatures, and standard exposure to pool chemicals.

Director of Community Education
