Youth Service Coordinator
Part time position: 20 hrs per week
Community School Coordinators are responsible for the development, scheduling, planning and delivery of a broad range of youth service programs for high school students in grades 9-12. These programs may occur before and after school, evenings, and/or on weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities- Work directly with high school students to plan, organize, and provide service-learning opportunities.
- Promote, publicize, and assess youth service-learning programs and services.
- Monitor, collect, evaluate specific program participation data.
- Coordinate student recognition opportunities/events, as appropriate.
- Recruit staff and/or volunteers to occasionally assist with service trips/projects.
- Collaborate with other district staff when appropriate.
- Partner with community organizations to facilitate service opportunities.
- Meet established program goals and standards.
- Perform other responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in field related to youth development, or K-12 education preferred.
- Experience in a school based setting preferred.
- Experience working with community and non-profit organizations preferred.
- Experience coordinating and implementing youth programs.
- Experience working directly with youth in the areas of youth service, youth development, youth enrichment and youth leadership.
- Experience recruiting and supervising staff and/or volunteers.
- Proficient computer skills
- Excellent communication, human/public relation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team setting.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, which includes completing an assigned day.
- Ability to perform position responsibilities including physical factors, work devices and materials handling, data functions, and people functions.
- Constant: sitting, twisting/pivot, reaching, repetitive arm, simple grasp, firm grasp, fine manipulating, talking, hearing, near vision (up to 20”), midrange vision, far vision (over 20’), visual accommodation; field of vision;
- Frequent: standing, walking, lifting above shoulder, lifting waist to chest, lifting below waist, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, feeling.
- Occasional: exposure to weather when driving is required.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
- Must be physically working in the building/on site.
