Special Education Teacher
Multiple opportunities are available for dedicated Special Education Teachers eager to make an impact in a dynamic school environment. These full-time, contract roles span various sites throughout the district, with assignments beginning August 31, 2026 and extending through the end of the 2026/2027 school year.
Current roles include Special Education Assessment Teacher (district-wide), Special Education Teacher in a Setting III/IV therapeutic Restore Program (high school), and ASD Center-Based Elementary Special Education Teacher (multiple elementary openings supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder). Each position involves active collaboration with supportive interdisciplinary teams and the opportunity to shape meaningful instructional experiences for students.
Key Qualifications- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field
- Active Minnesota Special Education Teaching License, or eligibility to obtain licensure through reciprocity
- Experience developing, implementing, and managing IEPs
- Strong understanding of IDEA, special education compliance, and case management best practices
- Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities
- Background in ASD, resource, self-contained, Setting III/IV, or assessment roles
- Familiarity with PBIS, MTSS, Functional Behavior Assessments, and Behavior Intervention Plans
- Experience with diverse elementary and/or secondary student populations
- Strong crisis intervention and behavioral management skills
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction aligned with student IEP goals
- Conduct evaluations, ongoing progress monitoring, and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with teachers, service providers, families, and administrators
- Implement behavioral interventions and classroom management techniques
- Ensure compliance with IDEA, Minnesota special education requirements, and district policies
