Learning Unlimited Coordinator

The Learning Unlimited Coordinator manages the coordination of all adults with disabilities programming for Butterfield, Madelia, Martin County West, St. James and Truman school districts. Plan, organize, and supervise a program that serves all adults with disabilities that reside in the consortium of schools. Provide, at a minimum, one monthly activity for each county of appropriate recreational and social activities for this population based on participants wants and needs.

There should be an activity for each county for at least 10 months. Find and train additional staff and/or volunteers to execute programs. Work collaboratively with other coordinators. Maintain connection to the state organization Community Education Network on Disabilities (CEND). Work with the Community Education Directors or identified district staff on budgets and fundraising. Communicate with the Community Education Directors or identified staff on offered activities for marketing.

Initiate and make contact with Learning Unlimited partners for marketing and assistance. Attend trainings and workshops that assist with program development. Develop and communicate information about programming to all participants and partners. Work with the Community Education Directors or identified staff for state annual reporting. Attend Community Education Advisory Councils as requested. Fundraising as needed. Maintain attendance and activities reporting including number of participants, date, location, type of activity, district, and if it went well after each event.

The activities during the school year (July 1-June 30) need to be reported to the Community Education department for each participating district by September 15 for the CE annual report. Send an annual survey evaluating activities done and future activities to be offered. Director/Coordinator meetings should be held 3 times a year to update and support program direction and operations.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in working with adults with disabilities. Reliable transportation. Good communication skills. Time management/organizational skills. Works well in a team. Able to plan and facilitate appropriate activities. Highly motivated, self-starter with a flexible schedule.
