The Park Rapids School District is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to serve as the Student Council Advisor at Century Upper Elementary for grades 5/6 for the upcoming seasonal term. The ideal candidate will foster a positive environment that encourages student leadership, collaboration, and engagement within the school community. The advisor will guide students in their initiatives, help develop their leadership skills, and support the overall mission of the Student Council.
This is a shared position with the Student Council advisor for 7/8 grades and the stipend is split between the two positions.
Responsibilities- Mentor and guide Student Council members in their roles and responsibilities.
- Facilitate regular meetings, ensuring all voices are heard and discussions are productive.
- Assist students in planning and executing school events, fundraisers, and community service projects.
- Collaborate with school administration to align Student Council activities with school policies and objectives.
- Provide support and resources for student-led initiatives and projects.
- Encourage student participation and engagement in council activities and decision-making processes.
- Serve as a liaison between the Student Council and school staff, parents, and the community.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Student Council programs and activities.
- Promote a positive school culture through student leadership and involvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with students, preferably in a leadership or advisory capacity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, staff, and parents.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and inspire students.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of students and the school community.
- Availability to work during the designated seasonal term and attend all relevant meetings and events.
