Garlough Environmental Magnet School Dates: 2026-27 School Year

Hours:

3 hours per day Salary Range: $23.86 - $26.03 per hour based on the  salary schedules for district paraprofessionals.

Required Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor's degree (preferably in a related field)
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships
• Demonstrated ability to work with high school students who speak a language other than English
• Ability to effectively use district technology
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively cross-culturally
• Exceptional organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in a secondary educational environment
• Proficiency in English and Spanish
• Prior experience as an educational paraprofessional
• Ability to show initiative and function as a self-starter
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Experience working with immigrant and refugee students

Essential functions of the position may include but are not limited to the following:

• Work collaboratively with the ESL Team and content teachers to best meet the needs of English learners
• Assisting students with classroom assignments
• Facilitate small group work
• Assist students in understanding their career and college pathways
• Translation or interpretation of assignments in English and Spanish
• Assist in access to academic acceleration of English learners
