Residential and Community Life are core components of the UMNMorris student experience — 90% of first-years and 50% of all students live on-campus, without a housing requirement. The Wellbeing Area Coordinator provides oversight for and manages 2-4

Residential Life buildings/areas and supervises 10-15 student staff members. They establish and help to sustain welcoming, inclusive residential communities that foster student wellbeing and success and advance the campus mission, vision, and strategic plan. This position collaborates with the Student Life CARE and Academic Alert Teams, assisting with student support and case management.

This position will live in an on-campus apartment and have ameal plan.

• Develop and assist with implementing Residential Life student engagement programs and initiatives encouraging student learning,persistence, and success.
• Mentor and assist student staff in developing engaging programs on timely, relevant topics (e.g., making friendships, healthy time management, increasing intercultural competencies, practicing problem-solving skills, adopting wellbeing practices, engaging with mental and physical health resources, utilizing academic support resources) that show a responsiveness to student needs.
• Teach a Morris 1101 college transition and success course section (1 credit); engage with the Morris 1101 instructor group;serve as a primary University staff resource and mentor for approximately 15 first-year students (Master’s degree required).
• Promote and encourage resident engagement in Residential Lifeand University programs, as well as support and attend key campus programs, meetings, and activities (e.g., Campus Assembly, the Healing Ceremony, Homecoming, the Undergraduate Research Symposium,Honors and Awards, Commencement).
• Solicit residents’ feedback on their experience, area programming, and community building. Ensure program tracking,assist with on-going program assessment/ evaluation.
• Maintain availability and accessibility to area residents through office hours, community walk-throughs, and resource sharing about Welcome Week and move-in, food resources during University breaks, and preparation for closing.
• Work with University departments and services to design or collaborate on programming initiatives and campus resources for residential life students.
• Participate actively in ORL weekly meetings, Student Affairs division meetings, shared University governance opportunities, andcampus-wide initiatives that require Residential Life representation and/or knowledge.

• Address resident or community conflict, including the use of mediation, dialogue, talking circles, forums, or other restorative justice practices.

  Residential Life policy violations.
• Collaborate with the Housing Operations Coordinator on room changes, emergency housing needs, and occupancy management within assigned residential areas.
• Represent Residential and Community Life at campus events suchas Admitted Student Day, New Student Orientation, and Student Employment Fair.
