Technical Consultant

NAPA Design Solutions is looking for a Technical Consultant to support both our existing and new Naval Architecture customers. Our clients operate in the global shipbuilding and maritime industry.

You are a member of NAPA Design Solutions Europe Services team which is part of the global Services team. All team members are Naval Architects and/or Structural Designers by education and have an excellent understanding of our customers’ problems and needs.

You provide technical support for NAPA software solutions for ship design, including answering customers’ questions about our ship design software and helping them overcome ship design-related problems. You also create training materials and give user trainings for customers at NAPA’s or the customer’s offices. To support our customers best and to ensure long-lasting relationships, you work in close cooperation with Sales and Software Development teams.

The role is permanent and full-time, and your home base can be our office in Helsinki (Ruoholahti), Finland. You can work in hybrid-mode.

You could be a good fit for this role if you have:

• More than two years of work experience performing ship structural design or structural analyses
• MSc or BSc in Science or another domain related to our focus (e.g. Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture)
• Ability to work independently in close cooperation with other team members

It would be beneficial if you also had:

• Experience in a design office or shipyard
• Experience in structural detail design
• Insight into Finite Element Analyses
• Basic programming skills
• Experience with CAD/CAE systems, for example NAPA Steel, AVEVA Marine, Cadmatic
• Previous experience in utilization of AI in service operations or data analysis

We hope you also have excellent teaching skills and want to take initiative and responsibility for your work. At NAPA, the working language is English, so you must have fluent written and spoken English skills. We also expect you to be eligible to work in Finland.
