The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end design, integration, and support of all electrical components and assemblies for assigned custom projects. This role partners closely with the Engineering Project Manager, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations to ensure electrical systems are safe, compliant, manufacturable, and aligned with project requirements. The Electrical Engineer supports the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through manufacturing, deployment, and post-installation service.

Essential Functions:
  • Own the electrical design and technical execution for custom projects, including power distribution, grounding, cable management, accessories, and integrated electrical components.
  • Collaborate with Engineering Project Managers to define electrical requirements, scope, timelines, and deliverables for custom projects.
  • Develop and release electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and specifications to support manufacturing and deployment.
  • Partner with Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure electrical designs are optimized for safety, manufacturability, assembly efficiency, and serviceability.
  • Support prototype builds, first-article builds, and pilot runs by validating electrical assemblies and resolving design or integration issues.
  • Provide technical support to Production and Manufacturing Engineering during electrical assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of custom projects.
  • Ensure electrical designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements (e.g., UL, NEC, and applicable international standards as required).
  • Support testing, inspection, and validation of electrical assemblies prior to shipment and deployment.
  • Manage electrical changes, revisions, and deviations throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.
  • Capture lessons learned from completed custom projects and contribute to standard electrical designs, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
    • 3+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting custom, engineered-to-order, or manufacturing environments.
    • Solid Works Electrical (or similar CAD/E-CAD software) experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of UL 508A, UL/CE standards, and NFPA 70/79.
    • PLC programming experience (Siemens preferred) is a plus, not a requirement.
