The Quality Engineer will continuously improve safety, quality, business, and manufacturing processes with emphasis on eliminating process waste. The role will use structured quality improvement tools to drive and eliminate process waste. The Quality Engineer will design new processes and re-engineer existing processes to product outcomes that meet safety, quality and business expectations.

Your Impact
  • Conduct continuous improvement of quality control testing, detection and defect prevention.
  • Coordinate the resolution of quality issues and respond to all platform quality process nonconformance issues in an expedient manner.
  • Analyze and lead implementation of effective solutions.
  • Construct quality data tracking, analysis, reporting, root cause investigation, corrective/preventative action & effectiveness verification, and develop quality standard operating procedures.
  • Serve as subject matter expert in multiple quality areas and work with teams across functions to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
  • Facilitate quality-led forums with various teams to identify opportunities to increase first pass yield, reduce defects per unit, and support strategic deployment targets.
  • Perform process capability studies and design/improve process inputs to gain desired outcomes.
  • Establish control plans and analyze constraints to overcome issues and consolidate gains.
  • Investigate/analyze and benchmark industry practices for process validation assessments; implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support supplier quality processes and interface with GPSC; partner to set purchase specifications, PPAP, and manage receiving inspections and quality audits.
  • Contribute to maintenance of ISO/IATF certifications and compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience, OR
  • Associate's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, OR
  • 9 years of related work experience without a degree.
Standout Qualifications
  • Proficient or strong working knowledge with some experience in data analytics, data structure development and management.
  • Interpret basic technical drawings including characteristics such as views, title blocks, dimensioning, GD&T symbols, etc.
  • Interpret specification requirements in relation to product and process characteristics.
  • Experience with structured problem-solving techniques utilizing computer applications.
  • Six Sigma certification & CQE.
Working Conditions

The following represents general working conditions for this role. Specific conditions may vary depending on business needs and individual circumstances. This role combines office-based administrative duties with physical activity in field or production environments. In the office setting, tasks may require extended computer use, sitting, and attending meetings. Field or floor work may involve walking across various terrains or shop floors, standing, moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds), climbing stairs, and exposure to varying temperatures or noise levels.

Compensation and Additional Information

1917 Pay Range: $73,200.00 - $. The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by factors including scope and responsibilities of the role, candidate experience, education, and skills.
