Location: Hawley

Rapat Corporation is a family owned and operated business that designs and creates custom conveyor systems to meet the unique needs of industrial and agricultural companies. We optimize material-handling processes to help make every workday smoother, easier, and more efficient for clients.

Now, we're hiring a full-time Project Estimator to create accurate quotes and competitive bid packages for prospective clients in Hawley, MN. If you think you could be the right fit, keep reading to learn more!


The Basics

Pay:
Depending on experience, $25.00 - $39.00/hour

Schedule:
Standard hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Core Responsibilities

Collaborating with various teams and vendors to acquire information for prospective conveyor design projects and develop competitive bids

  • Analyzing customer specifications, blueprints, and schematics to identify labor and material needs, estimate timelines, and create preliminary layouts and system drawings
  • Preparing cost estimates and presenting proposals
  • Coordinating projects, tracking bids, and maintaining engineering/sales documentation within the ERP
  • Ensuring all aspects of the job are up to quality and safety expectations and promptly reporting unsafe conditions
  • Providing price quotes, setting credit terms, and preparing sales contracts


Requirements

Our ideal Project Estimator is experienced in project management, industrial construction, mechanical conveying, material handling, technical writing, and/or millwright work. Exposure to low- and medium-voltage electrical systems and motors would be a bonus! You'll need:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a subject like project management, construction management, or drafting & design
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of mechanical components, structural steel, manufacturing processes, and industrial construction techniques
  • Ability to accurately follow schematics, blueprints, and verbal instructions
  • Professional communication skills and interpersonal abilities
  • Multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Experience with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.), Epicor Kinetic (or similar ERP), and CAD, AutoCAD, SOLIDWORKS, or similar design software
