Assistant County Engineer
Benton County is seeking a motivated and innovative engineering professional to join our leadership team as Assistant County Engineer. Working closely with the County Engineer/Public Works Director, this position plays a vital role in managing the County's highways, bridges, and drainage infrastructure while helping lead operations across multiple public works divisions.
We are looking for a collaborative leader who combines technical expertise with strong management and mentoring skills to supervise staff, oversee projects and programs, support strategic decision-making, and help deliver high-quality infrastructure and public services that benefit our communities.
If you're a collaborative engineering leader who enjoys mentoring staff, overseeing complex public works programs, and helping turn strategic goals into successful projects, this is the position for you! Licensed and non-licensed, Minnesota Professional Civil Engineers are encouraged to apply.
Each position grade level includes 11 wage steps. The minimum and maximum pay ranges for each level are listed below:
- Assistant County Engineer – Grade 17 Step 1: $45.16/hour | Step 11: $61.94/hour
- Assistant Public Works Director/Deputy County Engineer – Grade 19 Step 1: $49.79/hour | Step 11: $68.29/hour
