Overview
Taylor Corporation is looking for a Controls Engineer to join our team in North Mankato, MN. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
Responsibilities- Plan and schedule work to be done in the most cost-efficient and safe manner while maintaining project timelines
- Apply engineering principles to design products such as conveying systems, instruments, controls, robots, and machines
- Coordinate electrical equipment purchases and manage inventory for projects
- Analyze plant processes and design and implement improvements
- Troubleshoot issues with hardware and processes
- Create, maintain and keep current all hard copies and electronic data bases: electrical and pneumatic schematics, panel layouts, PLC, operator display, operator interface, robot programs, machine power distribution and related vendor controls component part documentation
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, electricians and operations personnel
- Provide on‑hand assistance with the machine shop and electricians as needed
- Occasional travel within the U.S. for installations and site visits
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Controls Engineering or a related field
- 1+ years of experience with PLC programming in a manufacturing environment, writing and editing PLC programs and HMI user interfaces
- Experience in CAD software creating electrical prints
- Strong organizational skills overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
- High computer literacy – ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Strong cause‑effect analytical abilities to solve problems
- Ability to operate autonomously and self‑direct
- Excellent communication and team‑building skills with the ability to manage relationships with internal and external customers, fostering trust and mutual respect
- Print industry experience
- Experience with Autodesk software
- Experience with Allen Bradley NFPA 79 and ANSI B11.19
The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000.
