Location: Saint Paul

Aerospace Welding Minneapolis, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer II to support the design and manufacture of aircraft exhaust systems, engine mounts, and structural components. In this hands-on role, you'll develop 3D models and drawings, perform tolerance and stress checks, and support DFM for FAA/EASA-regulated products. You'll partner closely with welders, machinists, and inspectors to resolve production issues, improve processes, and uphold strict safety and quality standards while growing specialized aerospace skills in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and improve mechanical components for aircraft exhaust systems, engine mounts, and structural parts
  • Create and update 3
  • D models, drawings, and specifications for aerospace manufacturing
  • Perform tolerance analysis, stress checks, and DFM reviews to ensure safety and reliability
  • Support production with troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement projects
  • Collaborate with welders, machinists, and inspectors to resolve technical issues on the shop floor
  • Participate in qualification, testing, and documentation for FAA/EASA-regulated products
  • Maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, and change control records in accordance with quality standards
  • Assist in process development for welding, fabrication, and assembly of aerospace components
  • Contribute to safety, quality, and lean initiatives across the manufacturing operation
  • Work with cross-functional teams to meet cost, schedule, and performance targets
