Position: Cage Cashier Part Time Evenings $18-$24
Location: Hinckley

The Opportunity

As a Cage Cashier for Grand Casinos, you are responsible for completing various financial transactions for guests, balancing bank drawers, and ensuring accurate paperwork at the end of each shift. Cage Cashiers must operate various machinery and software, maintain the functionality of cash‑related machines, and observe and report unusual guest activities.

What You Get to Do
  • Accurately balance money received and disbursed, including the assigned bank drawer (averaging $100,000).
  • Process large jackpots, guest transactions, and check‑cashing services.
  • Check for mutilated currency and prepare it for return to the bank.
  • Redeem coupons, coins, chips, and tokens for guests in exchange for cash.
  • Appear check‑cashing services, including debit/credit card services.
  • Redeem coins, cash cards, gift certificates, and chips for coins and/or currency for guests.
  • Redeem foreign currency, computing accurate exchange rates.
  • Redeem and validate EZ Pay tickets and script checks.
  • Operate basic machinery used to process currency, such as jet sort, bill counter, and calculator.
  • Utilize check‑cashing software, guest information database, ATM software, Title 31 compliance software, and various other applications.
  • Observe and report unusual guest activities.

What Qualifies You
  • Previous money handling experience preferred but not required.
  • Must secure a license from the Gaming Regulatory Authority (GRA).
  • Follow all relevant Detailed Gaming Regulations (DGRs).
  • Mille Lacs Band Member and American Indian preference will be exercised in the hiring process.
Must Have Skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey information to guests, team members, and management.
  • Deliver outstanding positive guest service, being friendly, approachable, and attentive to guest needs.
  • Proactively address challenges that may arise during duties.
  • Observe and report unusual guest activities to maintain security.
  • Show sound judgment and handle confidential matters appropriately.
  • Collaborate with other cage cashiers and team members to maintain a cohesive environment.
  • Pay close attention to detail when handling large sums of money; accuracy in counting, verifying, and processing transactions is critical.
Physical Needs
  • Talk and hear; ability to communicate effectively.
  • See and adjust focus to include close, distance, depth, and peripheral vision.
  • Stand, walk, run, sit (up to 8 hours), balance, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, and/or crawl.
  • Handle objects, tools, and controls; reach with arms and hands.
  • Able to lift and carry objects up to twenty‑five (25) lbs.
Work Environment
  • Moderate‑to‑loud noise level in public areas.
