Trust Operations Specialist
First State Bank and Trust is looking for a motivated individual to manage critical trust operations and support our clients and community.
Responsibilities- Post dividends, incoming cash deposits, promissory note payments, and processing fees. Complete operational opening and annual account reviews.
- Maintain all pledge account records for the trust department, including entries in MAUI, monthly reporting to Lending, confirmation of pledges for loans external to FSBT, and timely communication of any changes or issues to officers.
- Handle posting of incoming cash, investment earnings, dividends, and interest into client accounts. Ensure accurate, timely entries and maintain complete documentation.
- Enter client assets from other institutions into the Trust’s systems monthly, ensuring all investments are accurately reflected in the portfolio and maintaining documentation.
- Process fees once approved by Trust Officers. Review calculation worksheets for accuracy, post and process fees, and bill clients when necessary.
- Research and enter manual pricing for client assets that require it, recording prices in MAUI and reporting outdated prices to Trust Officers.
- Back up other positions as required.
- 2‑ or 4‑year college degree, preferably in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in reconciling accounts and balancing transactions is preferred.
- Previous experience in trust administration or financial services is preferred.
- Ability to multitask numerous responsibilities.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports.
- Excellent judgment and independent thinking skills.
- Maintains current knowledge of Federal and State laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Strong organizational skills and resourcefulness.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to function effectively with deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Proven customer service skills and the ability to resolve problems and prevent customer dissatisfaction.
- Knowledge of MS Office, especially spreadsheets and financial analysis. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
