General OverviewThe Senior Family Accountant supports the Family Advisors and collaborates with Waycrosse Professionals to problem solve, take ownership of projects, and work directly with clients. The role focuses on accounting analysis related to individuals and trusts, income tax and cash flow projections, and supporting the Family Advisor with all aspects of a client’s financial life. Multi-tasking and handling time- and information-sensitive activities are essential in this role.
KeyAreas of Responsibility
- Preparing, updating, and reviewing schedules and managing workflows related to client meetings/requests
- Preparing and updating cash flow and financial statements for individuals, foundations, trusts, and entities
- Direct client contact, addressing inquiries and providing timely, accurate information regarding their financial matters
- Trust administration, including trust accounting, journal entries, distribution requests, and meeting material preparation for trusts
- Reviewing quarterly financial statements and monthly cash transaction statements
- Compiling information and reviewing tax estimates and tax returns for individuals, trusts, entities, and foundations
- Performing ad hoc duties and handling special projects as requested (e.g., new account setup, bill payment, scanning, preparing journal entries, ACH and wire transfer requests)
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business required
- CPA or CFP preferred
- 5+ years of experience in wealth management preferred
- Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe); eMoney experience a plus
- Desire to grow and learn new tools, technologies, and enhance processes
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments with urgency and efficiency
- Self-starter with initiative and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Strong time management and prioritization abilities
- Superior interpersonal and written communication skills
- Proactive with the ability to anticipate needs
- Experience serving individual clients directly
- High level of confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information
- Willingness to take on tasks at multiple levels of experience
The position is in an office environment with computer-based work for extended periods. We operate in a hybrid work environment requiring in-office presence on Tuesday, Wednesday, and up to two additional days, subject to change at Waycrosse’s discretion.
