Job Overview
Create moments of joy and confidence for residents through personalized salon services in this flexible on‑call Salon Cosmetologist opportunity.
This position is responsible for providing beauty shop services (shampoos, shampoo sets, hats, permanent waves, colors, and manicures) to residents of a skilled nursing facility and apartments.
Qualifications- Current Cosmetology license in the State of Minnesota required.
- Previous salon or senior care experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff.
- Compassionate and resident‑focused approach to care and service.
- Ability to follow directions, facility policies, and established procedures.
- Must demonstrate patience, professionalism, and tact when working with residents.
- Willingness to participate in orientation and ongoing in‑service education.
- Assist residents to and from the Beauty Shop safely and comfortably.
- Provide scheduled salon services including shampoo sets, perms, coloring, manicures, and haircuts.
- Observe and report scalp conditions to nursing staff.
- Provide friendly conversation and personalized care during services.
- Style residents’ hair in a neat and flattering manner.
- Clean, sanitize, and maintain salon equipment and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records of services provided.
- Remove soiled towels and restock supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
