Salary Range: $17.00-$21.25 per hour

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case and on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Hourly pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees.

Job Summary

The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in resident rooms and assigned areas for Warroad Senior Living Center residents and staff members by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines. Tasks that the individual will be responsible for include but not limited to; emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.

Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools and techniques in a healthcare environment; ability to apply this to provide a clean and sterile environment for patients and facility staff. May be responsible for the following locations to clean but not limited to; resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met.

Wearing the proper protective equipment following the appropriate guidelines is required. Storage, equipment and carts must be kept well‑stocked, clean, and tidy. May be required to assist in the laundry areas as appropriate.

Physical activities include but not limited to, considerable use of arms and legs and moving of whole body; such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials. Ability to lift and/or move up to 40‑50lbs and push/pull up variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps. This position will require the individual to be on their feet for most of their shift.

May be exposed to certain levels of noise with the equipment in operation.

Qualifications

No formal education is required.

Must fulfill the annual continuing education requirements of the department and facility including departmental meetings, safety education and mandatory online training. Employees must have knowledge of general day‑to‑day housekeeping tasks in each of the various departments/areas of the facility. Employees are also responsible for following the cleaning policy and procedure for each department while following guidelines in the use of cleaning/sanitation chemicals.
