General Definition of WorkProvides consultative and direct instructional and behavioral services to students. Conducts student functional behavior assessments, trains and coaches staff in writing behavior intervention plans as well as the implementation of multi-tiered systems of support for behavior. Work is performed under the supervision of the Director of Special Support Services.

Essential Functions- Facilitate and coach teams through the development and implementation of functional behavior assessments/behavior interventions, plans and crisis plans for identified students.
- Provide social skills instruction to students utilizing research-based methodologies and approved district curricula.
- Implement and coach school personnel on research-based methods of classroom management and behavioral strategies.
- Collaborate with school personnel, agencies, and families in coordinating individualized ESE services for Students.
- Complete all reporting requirements as mandated by the district, state, federal, and educational agencies (i.e. restraint and seclusion, assessments, behavioral data).
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments.
- Support teams in writing Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Participate in the development of Individualized Educational Programs for students.
- Collect and summarize behavioral data.
- Assist with student crisis intervention.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of the policies, procedures, methods and techniques used for assessing sociological needs of individual students; thorough knowledge of federal and state mandates and local procedures and regulations relating to social and community support programs; thorough skill communicating orally and in writing; thorough skill using standard office equipment and related hardware and software; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers, administrators, other school personnel and community agencies.
Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in behavior analysis/psychology, or related field and minimal experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.
Physical RequirementsThis work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word;
hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst Credential
- Able to travel between sites.
- Strong teamwork, communication and report writing skills.
- Applicable district or department training will be provided and must be completed upon hire.
