This position is PRN with requirements to pick up at least one shift per month.
Essential Duties:
Supports the mission of Astera Health through personal conduct and behaviors that contribute ideas and suggestions, is helpful and friendly, demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality, and adheres to organizational policies and rules.Be a role model of Astera Health culture and core values.Prepares the operating room with the appropriate supplies and equipment for the procedure to be performed. Cleans and restocks the OR upon the completion of a procedure.Anticipates and obtains necessary supplies to fulfill needs of the surgeon during a procedure. Assures aseptic technique throughout a procedure.Monitors and evaluates the instruments and supplies during a procedure to ensure the safety of the surgical patient.Transports patients in surgical area to prepare for surgery.Assists surgeon and surgical assistant during surgical procedures. Acts as surgeon's assistant if needed.Assists with preparation of any culture or tissue for specimen collection.Prepares and sterilizes instruments in CSR. Orders supplies for OR, CSR and PAR. Routinely does outdates as scheduled, cleans and restocks to assist with sterile and efficient maintenance of supplies and instruments.Assists surgeon in the Endoscopy room. Processes endoscopes according to standards.Complies with established policies and procedures for safety and infection control to ensure the well-being of patient and staff, i.e., body substance isolation, fire, disaster.Maintains knowledge base on available resources and adheres to policies and procedures.Initiates and/or assists with Basic Cardiac Life Support in cardiopulmonary arrests and maintains annual CPR training.Qualifications Licenses & Certifications
