The mission of Ability Building Community (ABC) is to provide services for individuals with disabilities through community inclusion. Since 1956, ABC has offered work supports, recreation and leisure opportunities, and independent living services to people with disabilities in the Rochester, Caledonia, and La Crescent, Minnesota areas.
About the RoleThe Residential Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays an important role in supporting the health, safety, and overall well-being of an individual in their home. In this position, you will implement residential support plans, assist with personal care needs, follow health and safety procedures, provide transportation to community recreation and leisure activities, help with household tasks such as meal preparation and cleaning, and administer medications as needed.
Schedule and pay:
Specific Hours Needed: e/o Saturday 8:00am - 4:00pm; $18.00 per hour base pay with shift differential of $1.00 per hour that applies to all shifts between 6pm & 6am as well as any time on the weekend.
Additional days/hours may be available if interested.

Qualificationsand Requirements
- Must have held a valid driver’s license for at least three years, carry valid auto insurance, and be able to pass a pre-employment driver screening and Department of Human Services background study.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and follow directions.
- Basic computer skills are required for this position.
- Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred, but not required.
- Must be able to perform household duties, including meal preparation, and be able to administer medications. Training will be provided.
