Overview
Park Rapids, MN – Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – 1.0 FTE (full‑time) Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Provide behavioral health services to individuals and families across the continuum of care, primarily in outpatient settings with occasional inpatient or ED consults.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct health screenings and psychiatric evaluations.
- Prescribe, monitor, manage, and evaluate psychopharmacological medications.
- Provide integrated mental health services in general health settings.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, seeking consultation when necessary, and refer patients to other providers as needed.
- Participate in the interdisciplinary team to promote behavioral health services throughout the continuum of care.
- Maintain high level of customer service skills to foster positive relationships with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in a related field with a specialty focus in mental health.
- Certified by a professional organization in mental health promotion and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic psychiatric conditions.
- State licensure as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or a Physician Assistant (PA) with a Psychiatry Certification of Added Qualifications (CAQ).
- Current CPR certification and national certification in the applicable area.
- Proficiency in advanced health assessment (both physical and mental), pathophysiology, pharmacology/psychopharmacology, and medication management of psychiatric illness.
- Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills, in addition to strong oral and written communication abilities.
- Ability to build effective working relationships and exercise tact, discretion, and diplomacy in a high‑pressure environment.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with keyboard use.
After completion of graduate or post‑graduate clinical training, candidates must successfully complete the Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
