As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you play a vital role in enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. You provide direct care and support, helping them achieve greater independence and participate fully in their communities. Your work directly impacts their well-being and offers opportunities for personal growth and fulfillment.

• Assist with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and other daily living activities.
• Document observations and maintain accurate records.
• Administer medication and assist with behavior management strategies.
• Handle crisis intervention situations as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in direct support, patient care, or a related field (preferred, not required).
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques.
• Proficiency in medication administration (training provided).
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated empathy and patience.
• Ability to handle crisis intervention situations.
• Must be able to pass a DHS background check.

• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.

• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and transfer individuals as needed (with training and proper equipment).
• Ability to work in a variety of settings, including residential homes and community environments.
