Position: Sonographer- Full-Time - Up to $2,720/week

Sonographer - Full Time

Location:

100 bed Trauma 3 Hospital, Alexandria, MN (Osakis, MN ZIP 56360)

Schedule/

Shifts:

Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Dayshift

Pay: $75 – $85 per hour, up to $3,060 per week (13‑week temporary assignment)

What we ask of you
  • Perform clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations including general, vascular and OB/Gyn for the ED and any STAT in‑patient requests.
  • For OB experience, sonographer must be comfortable with 1st trimester OB, biophysical profiles, AFI, cord Doppler, and growth checks. No OB surveys or Level 2 exams required.
  • Review the requisition for examination to understand procedure requested, clinical history, patient condition or special requirements, and use cognitive sonographic skills to execute procedures as appropriate.
  • Use independent judgment during the sonographic exam to differentiate between normal and pathologic findings, and initiate additional ultrasound imaging procedures to facilitate optimum diagnostic results.
  • Analyze sonograms, synthesize sonographic information and medical history, and communicate findings to the physician.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and working relationships with the radiology team, follow physician instructions precisely, and accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Maintain a clean work area, promote safety habits for patients and co‑workers, and keep ultrasound equipment in good working order, clean and disinfect after each use, and maintain adequate supplies.
  • Complete exam billing and help supervisor gain support for unit goals and plans.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
What we require of you
  • A minimum of 5 years performing sonography including general, vascular and OB/Gyn.
  • Previous travel experience is preferred.
  • Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or Cardiovascular Technology Program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
  • Active certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is preferred.
  • Advanced registry in vascular, abdomen, OB and breast imaging is preferred.
  • Experience with Canon i800 equipment.
