Essentia Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), or CMA Apprentice to serve in the family practice at our Park Rapids Clinic in Park Rapids, Minnesota. The role involves direct patient care in an ambulatory setting with responsibilities that support physicians, registered nurses, and other providers. The position follows a standard Monday‑through‑Friday schedule of 8am to 5pm, with a weekend rotation of two Saturday shifts every six months.
Compensation$21.72 – $32.58 per hour, based on experience and certification level.
Shift Schedule8am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
Weekend rotation: two Saturday shifts every six months.
No holiday or on‑call rotations are required.
- Assist registered nurses, physicians, and other providers with direct patient care in the ambulatory setting.
- Perform assigned procedures for which competency has been demonstrated.
- Caring for patients ranging from newborn to elderly as noted on age‑related categories.
- Work under the guidance of a certified medical assistant or licensed practical nurse as an apprentice, completing clinical training modules every three months.

Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Minnesota upon hire. - CMA
:
Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant or verifiable completion of a Medical Assistant Program, and must become certified within one year of hire. Must pass certification within two attempts. - Apprentice
:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must enroll in the In‑Clinic Assistant Training Apprenticeship Program (ICATAP) and advance through modules for 12 months. Upon completion, completion of CCMA Board Certification within 12 months of education and on‑the‑job hours requirement. - All applicants: AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.
