Under limited supervision, this position provides specialized professional therapeutic programming to offenders in an alcohol and other drug treatment program. Incumbent is capable of performing all aspects of program content, including security, assessment/evaluation, psycho-educational programming, monitoring and reporting, teaching, training and professional standards.

Work is with incarcerated individuals in minnesota correctional facility (mcf) - lino lakes.

** minimum qualifications*

Licensure:

Current licensure or eligibility for licensure
* by the minnesota board of behavioral health and therapy as an alcohol and drug counselor (ladc) or equivalently qualified to perform alcohol and drug counseling under minnesota statute 148f.11.

To maintain employment, the successful candidate who is eligible for ladc licensure must possess a temporary adc permit within 60 calendar days of the first day of employment and current ladc license within the probationary period.)

* Experience/education

One year of experience providing behavioral health services, including individual and group therapy, to clients with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring disorders.

Or

Master's degree in alcohol and drug counseling/studies, psychology, social work, marriage and family, counseling, or a related behavioral health/science program*

+ knowledge of professional, legal, and ethical standards; best practices; and community standards of care.

+ skills in verbal and written communication, including proficient documentation skills.

+ basic personal computer skills.

+ ability to provide substance use treatment; formulate and implement an individualized treatment plan; and develop a continuing care plan.

+ ability to teach a psycho-educational course; effectively function within a multi-disciplinary team; exercise sound judgment; and demonstrate appropriate professional boundaries.
