Substance Use Counselor Salary
Base Salary:
Fully Licensed
$60,004.41 - $69,478.79/annually
Base salary + MHPSA differential: $69,005.07 - $79,900.61

We strive for excellence in clinical care as we serve those living with mental illness, substance use disorders, crisis, unstable housing, and trauma. Canvas Health is a non‑profit, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) specializing in serving clients who are on Medicaid.
This position provides a full spectrum of outpatient treatment services including assessment, group facilitation, individual and family sessions, service coordination and serving as an integral member of our substance use treatment team, in our North Branch outpatient treatment program. It incorporates an asset/strength-based philosophy and demands a creative use of knowledge in the delivery of cognitive behavioral interventions and the coordination of services.
This position is collaborative in nature and requires working closely and being sensitive to relationships with Court Services, Social Services, substance use providers, mental health providers, schools, managed care and various other community resources.

ScheduleMonday to Friday 8:30am – 5pm
Minimum Qualifications- MN LADC licensure.
- Experience working with Court Services, Social Services and Managed Care networks.
- Bachelor's degree in human services or related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with and/or delivering services to diverse populations.
- Three years' experience in the field of substance use with a minimum of two years direct experience that includes experience in delivery of cognitive behavioral approaches, motivational interviewing and working with co‑occurring disorders.
- Experience with Electronic Health Record systems.
