Day Shift Radiology & Lab Technician: Phlebotomy + LIS

Lab/Rad Operator

0.8 FTE – Day shifts.
Starting Pay: $20.57 – $25.72 (based on experience). Offers for external candidates are generally made between the minimum and midpoint of the range.

• Perform radiology exams within the scope of Limited Radiology Operator Certification.
• Collect phlebotomy specimens (venipuncture, capillary, arterial, therapeutic) and process them for throat culture, urine, and other requested tests.
• Conduct waived level testing for immunology, urinalysis, chemistry, and hematology.
• Document specimen flow in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Prepare specimens for dispatch to external laboratories when required.
• Maintain a safe work environment; comply with safe practice, standard precautions, and CLIA standards.
• Perform quality control, proficiency testing, evaluate data, and implement corrective action.
• Use clinical information systems (RIS, LIS, IEHR). Manage sufficient supply inventory.
• Assist with policy review, development of new testing, and orientation/training of new staff.
• Perform phlebotomy at skilled nursing facilities as needed; conduct ECGs.
• Escort patients, collect intake data, assist clinicians, prepare patient education materials, and clean rooms and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Limited Radiology Operator Certification is required (core and five modules).
• Prior experience preferred.
• Good communication skills and ability to exercise independent judgment.
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• Technical knowledge and job‑appropriate computer skills.
• Compliance with safety, infection control, and COLA/CLIA standards.

Minimum qualifications:

Medical terminology preferred; computer data entry skills preferred; phlebotomy experience or certification preferred; previous laboratory experience preferred; BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection: venipuncture, capillary, arterial, therapeutic.
• Prepare specimens for throat culture, urine, and other requested tests.
• Conduct waived level testing for immunology, urinalysis, chemistry, and hematology.
• Document patient specimen flow in the LIS.
• Process specimens per requirements, including dispatch to external labs.
• Maintain a safe work environment and comply with safety standards.
• Assist with new employee orientation and training.
• Perform other duties as requested.

• Heart Code (preferred)
• Driver’s License (preferred)
• Limited Xray Operator (required)
• BLS (preferred; required within 90 days of hire)
