Environmental Services​/Housekeeping - PRN

Job Overview

Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines. The role includes emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing or polishing floors, and using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.

• Clean patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas to meet health standards.
• Wear proper protective equipment following appropriate guidelines.
• Keep storage, equipment, and carts well‑stocked, clean, and tidy.
• Use pagers and other technology appropriately when needed.
• Assist in laundry areas as appropriate.
• Perform physical tasks such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials; lift and/or move up to 40‑50 lbs and push/pull variable weight limits on flat surfaces or ramps.
• Work the majority of shift on feet and be prepared for overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience helpful.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals helpful.
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
• Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
