Direct Support Professional; DSP

Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is hiring part‑time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for our adult foster care home in Brookston, MN. As a DSP, you will help people with disabilities and mental illness live their best, most fulfilling lives. The Westbrook program is located in Brookston, MN, about 30 miles outside of Duluth. Westbrook provides supported living settings and an apartment on a beautiful, wooded 160‑acre working farm with cows, horses, a donkey, and vegetable gardens. Westbrook’s unique setting and structured environment provide a diverse outdoor recreation program of hiking, biking, fishing, carpentry and crafts, agate hunting, animal tracking, and other outdoor activities.

16–30 hours per week. Shift times include a blend of days and evenings. Every‑other weekend is required.

​$20.50–$21.00 per hour, plus a rate exception of $1.75 per hour on top of RSI’s regular wages. Rate exceptions are tied to the individual(s) receiving services and will no longer be offered if the individual terminates service with RSI or no longer needs the additional supports.

As a DSP, you will assist in a variety of day‑to‑day tasks based on the needs and goals of the people you are caring for. Duties may include medication administration, household duties, behavioral management, assistance with personal hygiene and medical care, and community activities such as shopping, concert outings, dining out, movies, fitness, outdoor recreation, and more. You will develop meaningful relationships and be part of a person‑centered culture that values the people we support and team members.

Your schedule will typically include 4–8 hour shifts with hours scheduled during the week and every other weekend. We support people 24/7 and have a variety of shift times available.
