Activities Assistant

Full-time Regular — Minnetonka, MN, US

Salary Range: $20.00 To $23.00 Hourly

* Preferred Schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday off. Some evenings.

Overview

Support and lead activities for residents, planning, promoting, and facilitating programs to meet recreational and social needs.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assisting with planning, promotion, and facilitating/leading each event or program.
  • Assess resident’s recreational and social needs.
  • Lead small, large, and one on one activity programs with seniors.
  • Support coordination of transportation needs to outside events/programs in accordance with established policies and procedures. Accompany residents on field trips as assigned.
  • Work cooperatively with assigned volunteers and direct their assignments to support the resident programming.
  • Drive Community Van
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1-year activities experience in independent retirement, assisted living, adult day services or long-term care facility serving a senior population.
  • Memory Care Experience Preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
  • Currently possess a Class C license, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to use basic Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) computer programs.
  • Creativity in developing and planning activity programs.
  • Group leadership and interpersonal skills to lead one on one, small, and large group activities.
  • Able to make responsible choices and decisions, and act in a resident’s best interest.

Schedule:

Wednesday through Sunday, 8:30am – 5:00pm;
Off Mondays and Tuesdays;
Up to 40 hours per week.
