Job Summary:
Bring your expertise in sleep medicine to our team by delivering comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. In this role, you will play a vital part in assessing, diagnosing, treating, and educating patients with suspected sleep conditions under the guidance of a physician—helping patients achieve better sleep and improved overall health.
Key Position Details:
- FTE 0.9 (72 hours per two week pay period)
- 12-hour permanent night shift
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday night shift- hours 7:00p-7:30am or 7:30p-8:00a
- Partial weekend with Friday night shift going into Saturday
- No weekends
Job Description:
Conducts the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders in patients. Responsible for assessments, diagnosis, treatments and education of patients with suspected sleep disorders under the direction of a physician. Principle Responsibilities
- Polysomnographic testing, scoring and follow up
- Applies electrodes, monitors accordingly, ensures artifact free recordings and documents values for any clinical event during testing.
- Implements and titrates appropriate therapy per lab protocol.
- Scores Polysomnograms, downloads/stores data and generates reports prior to follow up appointment.
- Patient education and record management
- Educate patient on sleep disorders, testing procedures and operation of sleep disorder devices.
- Verify medical order/protocol, complete all technical paperwork.
- Complete appropriate paperwork and billing procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Vocational or Technical Training in a polysomnography program with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or, equivalent experience with documented proficiency in all required competencies of a Polysomnographic Technologist or, meets Board Registered Polysomnographic (BRPT) standards for a sleep technologist
- 0 to 2 years polysomnography experience
- 0 to 2 years strong knowledge of Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) devices
- 0 to 2 years able to assess patients, apply critical thinking and determine appropriate interventions
Licenses/Certifications:
- Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire)
- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) - Board Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (BRPT) or credentialed with Sleep Disorders Specialty from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) upon hire required
- Current license in allied health profession if applicable preferred

Pay Range: $32.92 to $45.12 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
